Rabbit Proof fence

Rabbit Proof fence is a film based on a true story that is set in the year 1931 in heartland of Australia. It was a time of when the Australian government would take the native aborigine people’s children away from their families. The took the children away to camps or to live with white people so they will acclimate to their culture and western ways. The story tells of three sister taken away from their family to go live in a camp. The girls run away and walk over 900 miles in the wilderness surviving through the rugged landscape, out running the police, and losing a sister along the way. It is a touching and inspiring movie

show casing the hardship the people had to go through but, with their own culture and strong bonds are able to make it back to their loved ones. This movie was upsetting to watch but I found myself deeply engaged with the content. I tent to watch comedies and horror/suspenseful movies. I hope to be able to grasp the talents of making these kind of films myself one day. The camera work, editing, and directing are all critical to the make of movies, including the Rabbit Proof Fence with its amazing establishing shots and use of the terrane.
